Project Coordinator (Expansion Project)

Radiant Hall seeks a temporary Project Coordinator to support a major facility expansion and public programming initiative occurring over the next 4-6 months, with potential to transition to a permanent role.

PROJECT COORDINATOR (EXPANSION PROJECT)

Temporary, Part-Time

  • Hours: 5 to 10 hours per week, average 32 hours per month

  • Compensation: $22.21/hour

  • Benefits: This position is provided rental credits for approximately 200sf of studio space at one of our facilities. Flexible hours with partial remote work for administrative duties available.

Radiant Hall is Pittsburgh’s largest provider of affordable artist studios, supporting more than 100 artists across multiple locations. Our mission is to empower artists to sustain thriving studio practices by creating and preserving access to space, shared resources, programs, and a supportive community of peers. We are expanding our footprint through the development of new artist studios and a public-facing arts activation space that will further strengthen the region’s creative ecosystem.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Radiant Hall seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support the successful execution of a major facility expansion and public programming initiative. This role will report to the Managing Director and work closely with the leadership team and external partners to ensure the project proceeds smoothly from pre-construction through phased activation.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator and proactive problem-solver who thrives in a mission-driven, creative environment. Experience as an arts practitioner is highly valued.

This is a temporary position designed to support a major facilities and programming launch occurring over the next 4-6 months, with potential to transition to a permanent role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Coordination & Communication

  • Support coordination among Radiant Hall team and partners to maintain project timelines.

  • Support general operations associated with preparing new creative spaces for occupancy.

  • Assist with outreach and promotional efforts to engage artists and local community members.

Program Planning & Implementation

  • Coordinate logistics for the phased opening of a new public-facing activation space, including interim pop-up programming if needed.

  • Develop the artist call, application guidelines, and selection criteria for exhibitions, installations, or other creative activations.

  • Coordinate the artist selection process, including communications, outreach, and panel/committee organization (if applicable).

  • Work with staff and artists to plan scheduling and installation logistics.

Fundraising & Development Support

  • Support staff in drafting materials for funding proposals, reports, and donor communications.

  • Assist with gathering program information, metrics, and narratives for prospects and existing supporters.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Passion for the mission

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating projects in fields such as arts, community development, nonprofit management, or creative production

  • Familiarity with artist communities, cultural programming, or creative placemaking

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

  • Proficiency Google Workspace, Asana, or similar preferred

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small non-profit environment

  • Exceptional organization and time management skills

  • Fundraising/grant writing experience a plus

  • There are no specific educational/degree requirements

WORKING CONDITIONS

Our studios are shared working spaces and we cannot guarantee the environment to be completely free of odors or particulates. However, we do not permit the use of aerosols, toxic or high-odor materials inside any of our buildings. Candidates should have reliable transportation and be available for occasional evening and weekend activities.
