Frances Metcalf
My goal as an artist is to capture the colors and shapes that exist in the world I see. I cannot limit myself to one medium. I am a printmaker. I make encaustic paintings. I work with acrylic. My creativity is limitless. I use it wherever and however I find it. Each piece of art is an individual expression of what I see, feel, and remember. I am an artist – free to create as I see fit.
I strive to make art through the power, gifts, and talents that God has given me. I yearn to be faithful to the inner me, the person who feels more comfortable creating art than doing anything else in this world. I also want to share my original art with others. I believe that each person should be able to own at least one piece of original fine art as a means of connecting with the spirit of creation.
Not in the clamor of the crowded street
Not in the shout and plaudits of the throng,
But in ourselves are triumph and defeat.
Longfellow, “The Poets”
